Social media harms kids!

Did you know that social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, etc., can harm you? Using social media too much can cause depression, anxiety, etc., affecting your mental health.

Kids can also face bullying and harassment on social media platforms. Seeing professionally created images can make youngsters feel bad about themselves.

Excessive social media use can also negatively affect your education.

State bans social media for kids!

Recently, Florida (a state in the USA) passed a law banning children under 14 from having social media accounts. Social media companies must delete all accounts of users under 14.

Kids aged 14 and 15 will need their parents’ permission to open social media accounts. Teenagers aged 16 or older can freely use social media.

This law will be followed from 1st January 2025.

Every social media user in Florida must provide age proof. Companies can check this to ensure that kids under 14 are not using social media.

Social media platforms can also be punished for not following the rules.

But we are not in Florida!

Yes, we are not in Florida, so this ban does not affect us. But it’s also true that too much social media is very harmful to you.

Even without such a law in India, you must not use social media too much and concentrate more on education, hobbies, etc.

Trust us, going out to play with friends is much more fun than liking or commenting on their social media posts!
