Soon Public Dress Code Guidelines in Karnataka
Guidelines coming soon!

Guess what? The Karnataka government plans to issue dress code guidelines for malls and other public places, such as parks and clubs.

This news comes after a recent incident where a farmer wearing a dhoti (a special Indian outfit) went to a mall in Bengaluru but wasn’t allowed in.

People criticised the mall's action, and the state’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, said everyone should be able to wear their favourite clothes, like dhotis, wherever they go.

So, they are releasing new guidelines to make sure everyone feels welcome in public spaces like malls, parks, etc.

Action taken!

The police took action against the mall owner and the security guard. It was also closed for a few days because they hadn’t paid their taxes. They’ve now paid them and said sorry for the incident.

Not the only incident!

This isn’t the first time something like this happened! A while ago, a worker tried to get on the metro but was stopped because his shirt looked too old.

To ensure this doesn’t happen again, the government wants to release new rules so everyone can go wherever they want in their favourite clothes.

Clothes shouldn’t be a reason to judge people!

Imagine going to the mall or park and not being let in just because of your clothes. That’s not fair! Everyone should be able to wear their favourite clothes and still have fun.

We should all be nice to each other, no matter what we wear. Let’s make sure everyone feels happy and welcome!
