Then the trophy landed at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad to start the trophy tour. It will be the first men's Cricket World Cup hosted entirely by India. Earlier, India had co-hosted the World Cup with other neighbouring countries.</p><p>Ten teams will take part in this tournament. Each country plays the other nine in a round-robin format. The top four teams after the group stage will qualify for the semi-finals. Out of them, two will reach the finals.</p><p>Ten venues have been selected to host the matches. They are Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Dharamsala, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.</p><p>The opening match will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The two semi-finals will be held in Eden Gardens, Kolkata and Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
