<h5>Where was this record created?</h5><p>On 25th December 2023, 1282 tabla players performed Vande Mataram on tabla during the Taal Darbar program at the 99th International Tansen Mahotsav (also known as Tansen Samaroh) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh (MP). By doing so, they set a <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/world-record-created-in-uttar-pradesh">Guinness World Record</a> for the largest tabla ensemble.</p><p>The latest achievement comes around a month after Gwalior was named the Creative City of Music in the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/two-more-indian-cities-are-now-unesco-creative-cities">UNESCO Creative Cities Network</a> (UCCN) in November 2023. The certificate for achieving this incredible world record was given to MP Chief Minister (CM) Mohan Yadav. He announced this to honour all musicians and celebrate this extraordinary achievement. The performance of the tabla players and the record they created highlighted Madhya Pradesh's cultural and musical heritage.</p><h5>What is Tansen Samaroh?</h5><p>Tansen Samaroh is a tribute to the Indian musical legend Tansen. This musical event sees the presence of famous national and international artists. This year’s event is being held from 22nd to 28th December 2023.</p><p>Tansen Samaroh is held every December in the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. Artists and music fans worldwide gather here to honour the Indian musical legend Tansen. The event is organised by Ustad Alauddin Khan Kala Evam Sangeet Academy and the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh.</p><p>Taal Darbar is an event under Tansen Samaroh. Taal Darbar featured tabla players of all ages. The participants ranged from experienced tabla payers to young and upcoming talents.</p>

The record was set around a month after Gwalior was added to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
