<h5>What is happening?</h5><p>Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Science and Technology, recently announced that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing to launch India's first human flight "Gaganyaan" by 2025. The plan was to launch Gaganyaan in 2022, but it was postponed due to COVID-19.</p><p>According to the minister, there will be two preliminary launches in 2024, the first of which will be unmanned. This will be done to mark the routes because if the rocket goes into space, it should return safely. In the second space flight, no humans will be present. Instead, a robot will act as a human replica.</p><p>The first two launches will be used to check the preparedness of the Gaganyaan mission. The Gaganyaan mission aims to show human space flight capability by launching a crew of three people into a 400-kilometre orbit for a three-day trip and safely returning them to Earth by landing in Indian sea waters. This mission was announced by ISRO.</p><p>This mission requires the development of many important technologies, like a launch vehicle capable of safely transporting crew to space, a life support system capable of providing an earth-like environment to the crew, an emergency escape provision, and other things like crew training, recovery, etc.</p><p>Before launching the real Human Space Flight mission, several testing flights are planned to demonstrate the technology’s preparedness levels. Many test flights will be conducted before the real mission. The mission has been planned by various experts using cutting-edge technology.</p><p>LVM3 rocket - ISRO's well-proven and dependable launcher - has been selected for the Gaganyaan mission. The LVM3 launch vehicle has been reconfigured to suit humans, and the vehicle has been named Human-Rated LVM3.</p><h5>Where will the crew be trained for this mission?</h5><p>The crew will be trained in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Bengaluru Astronaut Training Facility offers classroom training, physical fitness training, simulator training, and flight suit training. Academic courses, Gaganyaan flight systems, survival training, etc., will also be covered.</p><p>Aeromedical training, regular flying practice, and Yoga are also part of the training programme.</p><h5>What did we learn from this article?</h5><p>We learned that India has a well-developed space programme that has done significant work in space exploration, satellite technology, etc.</p><p>But now, we’re planning to send humans to space for the first time. NASA has done it but ISRO is trying for the first time.
