<h5>Records are meant to be broken!</h5><p>The Indian Premier League (IPL) is underway, and the fans are passionately supporting their favourite teams. All the teams are fighting hard with only one aim - lifting the IPL trophy.</p><p>We recently published an article mentioning that <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/ipl-2024-top-score-record-broken">Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) created a new record</a> for the “highest team total in an innings in the IPL”. Guess what? Within days that record has been broken as well!</p><h5>Who broke the record?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/ipl-2024-new-records-being-broken%2FSRH%202.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=5dc58010-d5d9-4571-a328-19599526c891"><figcaption>Glimpses from SRH’s match. Photo by IndianPremierLeague.</figcaption></figure><p>You won’t believe it, but SRH broke their own record! Fantastic, isn’t it? They scored 287 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), ultimately winning the match!</p><p>Travis Head (playing for SRH) scored a fantastic century in 39 balls, which became the fourth-fastest century in the IPL’s history. SRH also hit 22 sixes while batting, setting a new record for the most sixes in an IPL innings.</p><p>The top three team totals in the IPL history belong to SRH (1st and 2nd spots) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Photo by IndianPremierLeague.</figcaption></figure><p>There have been some good bowling performances, but the batsmen are stealing the spotlight!</p><p>An Indian <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/ipl-2024-india-s-new-bowling-sensation">fast bowler known to bowl at high speeds</a> was recently injured and is undergoing recovery.</p><p>Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah recently took five wickets against RCB in four overs (the maximum a bowler can bowl in T-20 matches), which is a massive achievement!</p><p>The race for the purple cap is also heating up. The bowlers are fighting for the top spot on the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.iplt20.com/stats/2024">list</a>. Who’s your favourite batsman or bowler?
