<h5>How many students have been suspended?</h5><p>A private school located in Pune, Maharashtra, has suspended four Class 7 students for bullying one of their classmates inside the school premises. The four boys allegedly tried to restrain their classmate by pinning him to the bench, sitting on him, etc. Later, the bullied student informed his teacher and parents.</p><p>A meeting was held in which the school showed CCTV footage of the event to the parents of the students involved. The victim's parents requested the school to expel the four students. However, the school’s director said the four students could not be expelled, as students up to Class 8 cannot be expelled under the Right to Education Act.</p><p>Still, the four students have been temporarily suspended. Their parents have agreed to counsel them from home. Students will attend classes at different shifts when they return to school.</p><h5>What are the effects of bullying someone?</h5><p>Bullying has a negative impact on students' health, wellness, and learning. It can cause students to feel lonely, sad, and scared. Bullying can also harm a child's relationships, academic performance, etc.</p><p>Students who are bullied frequently suffer from depression, low self-esteem that can last a lifetime, shyness, and physical problems. They can also attempt to hurt themselves.</p><p>Sometimes, those who bully others also face various problems. They might get caught and expelled from school, college, etc. This can affect their careers.</p><p>So, we must not bully others and also stop others from bullying someone.</p><h5>What to do if you are being bullied?</h5><p>Being bullied is upsetting and frightening. It can also cause physical harm. If you are being bullied, try to remain calm. Don’t let the hurtful words of the bullies bring you down. You are way better than them. You can also ask them to stop and even walk away from them.</p><p>You can always express your feelings to someone you trust, like a friend, family member, etc. It's important to have a support system. You must also spend time with those people who make you feel happy and positive.</p><p>If the bullying continues, contact a teacher, school counsellor, or other people of authority. You can tell them where and when you were bullied, who bullied you, etc. You can also approach mental health professionals (with the help of your parents) to talk about your experience. These are some steps that can be taken if you are being bullied.</p><p>Also, never ever bully someone else. Choosing kindness and compassion above cruelty produces a positive environment and strong relationships.</p>
